Timothy and Susan Sansone Family Donor-Advised Fund

Tim and Susan Sansone, parishioners of Immacolata Parish in Richmond Heights, appreciate the Catholic values that were instilled in them. Having both grown up in families that encouraged giving to those in need, Tim Sansone says, “It’s very important to us that our children get the sense of giving that we were brought up with. A Donor-Advised Fund makes this easy.”

The Sansones established the Timothy and Susan Sansone Family Donor-Advised Fund at the Roman Catholic Foundation in part because Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs) allow for streamlined charitable giving. Tim and Susan made a contribution to the Foundation to establish the fund and can add to it at any time. As advisors, they recommend grants from the DAF online at their own pace to the charities they wish to support. The Foundation writes and mails the checks based on those recommendations; the Sansones simply collect their thank you letters!

Of particular interest to Tim and Susan was the fact that with a DAF they can name successor advisors. This means that their children can be included in the giving experience, eventually making decisions themselves about which charities the family fund will support. The Sansones look forward to passing on the Catholic values they received to the children they were blessed with.
