Beyond Sunday Scholarships & School Grants
The Roman Catholic Foundation recently awarded more than $2.2 million in Beyond Sunday scholarships and school grants for the 2019-2020 school year to students of middle-income families and local Catholic schools.
Beyond Sunday Scholarships
- $1.7 million awarded to 1,092 students attending 120 Catholic elementary and high schools for the 2019-2020 school year
- $7.2 million awarded in total to 1,778 students attending 135 Catholic schools since 2016
Beyond Sunday scholarships provide tuition assistance to students of middle-income families who wish attend Catholic elementary or high schools in the Archdiocese of St. Louis. High school Beyond Sunday scholarship recipients, Beyond Sunday Fellows, not only receive tuition assistance but also become part of a community of Fellows, which meets several times each year for Foundation-sponsored community service projects and shared faith experiences.
Beyond Sunday School Grants
- $518 thousand granted to 30 schools and PSR programs for the 2019-2020 school year
- $2.3 million granted in total since 2017
The Catholic education system in the Archdiocese of St. Louis is one of tradition and excellence. The system serves more than 50,000 students, providing faith formation and exceptional academics; the average ACT score of students attending archdiocesan high schools is higher than 99% of Missouri school districts and 4.5 points higher than the state average.
Beyond Sunday school grants build on this outstanding Catholic education, helping schools grow in the areas of Catholic identity, teaching and management and develop even stronger educational programs in the STREAM disciplines (science, technology, religion, engineering, arts and mathematics).

About Beyond Sunday
Beyond Sunday, a capital campaign led by the Roman Catholic Foundation, was completed in 2017 as the most successful fundraising campaign in the history of the Archdiocese of St. Louis. Forty percent of the total $110 million raised is returned directly to parishes to address local needs, while the remaining 60% (less campaign expenses) is allocated to Catholic education, providing scholarships and grants and building the Beyond Sunday Education Endowment Fund, which will provide scholarship assistance to middle-income families in perpetuity.
