Food Pantry Expansion Made Possible by Beyond Sunday
St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, St. Joseph Parish
The community of Farmington, Missouri is now better able to serve those in need thanks to the generosity of nearly 200 Beyond Sunday donors at St. Joseph Parish in Farmington. St. Joseph parishioners supported the Beyond Sunday campaign in a big way, eager to assist middle-income families in providing their children with Catholic education and to offer support for the needy within their community.
Sixty percent of all funds raised in the Beyond Sunday campaign benefit Catholic education. The funds provide tuition assistance to middle-income families who wish to send their children to Catholic elementary or high school, and they provide school grants to improve the quality of Catholic education throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis. The remaining 40% raised by each parish in the Beyond Sunday campaign is returned to the parish to address local needs. The parish family at St. Joseph determined the need at their parish was an expansion of their St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
St. Joseph parishioners raised nearly $575,000 for Beyond Sunday. Of this, approximately $345,000 will go toward Catholic education. The remaining 40%, approximately $230,000, has been allocated for the food pantry expansion and the other items on the St. Joseph Beyond Sunday case for support. The generous support for Beyond Sunday from St. Joseph Parish in Farmington will make a lasting impact on that local community and our broader Catholic community.
The Roman Catholic Foundation builds endowed funds that will support Catholic parishes, schools and ministries throughout the Archdiocese of St. Louis for generations to come.
